What a weekend laaaa! 5 days of long hours of classes and 2 major parties! By the time I post this, I would have fully recovered by now. 

Party #1: Mark & Michael's Garden Party

Two thirds of my Powerpuff Girls celebrated their 21st birthday on the 26th of July. Mark's birthday was on the 30th of June and Michael's is on the 6th of August. But since they're cousins and Naveen (their other cousin) was back from Melbourne, they decided to combine both parties into one. Ever since I met Mark and got to know his friends and family, I've always been envious of how close his family is. He, Mic & Nav grew up together and they're all so tight. I'm so jealous :( I never had that growing up. Their family is so cute also. I love them.

Myself, Mark, Nikita, Kisha, Sue, Evan & Nithin. I shouldn't have worn that skirt la. It poofs out a bit and it made me look like I was preggers. Not good to have when you're surrounded by you're boyfriend's family and extended family. 

During the picture taking ceremony, some of Mark's friends smeared cake all over the birthday boys' face. Mark's mum was all like, "DON'T WASTE MY CAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!" Hahahahaha. I never got to try the cake :'(

Michael prepared this awesome photo montage of himself and Mark and they projected it on a screen in the garden. It had so many cute baby pictures! Ahmagad, I die. I have one here. Try to spot Jude, Sean & Mark. Mark's dad looking very dashing also. 

Because my curfew is early (on or before 12. I'm Cinderella), I stayed the night at Sue's place cause her parents don't mind picking her up late and her curfew is much later than mine. I'm 21 years old and I still have a curfew. Am I the only one who has this? 

Woke up the next morning (more like afternoon), and Mallini came over and she made us FOOD! GLORIOUS FOOD! She made fried mozzarella sticks dipped in flour and chilli flakes. Holy shit, foodgasm. We tried out Sue's new air-fryer thingamabob too. And it really works! I'm so fascinated by it! I need to get me one of those things since I have such an affinity to fried stuff.

Boys think when girls get together we have pillow fights in our underwear and braid each other's hair. We did that, minus pillow fights in the underwear bit. Look at my Khaleesi braid :) 

For those of you who follow me on Instagram, you would realize the surge of photos I put up last Saturday. I think I put up 5 that day. And before that, I only have 3. I recently got Instagram so I'm quite excited with it! Yay! I even tried out the video feature. Tried so hard not to laugh.

Party 2#! So Saturday was the day of Chermzy's party. She's been planning it for months! I already knew about it in May. And she even had a theme :) It was a white party! I love the theme! But then I realised I had no white dress excpet for my confirmation dress and I would never wear that dress again. It's way too "pretty". Not my style. So Sue and I went last minute shopping on Thursday to Bangsar and went looking for dresses and we found them! :D Mine was a delicate chiffon dress with pleats with cutouts in the back. 

I had a big wardrobe malfunction with that dress because it was all creased. The one hanging in the store was too big for me so I had to opt for a smaller size and that was in the store room in the plastic. We were already rushing by the time I got it so I thought asking them to steam it wouldn't be wise. So I thought I could iron it myself. BIG MISTAKE. Long story short, my dress got burnt and now there are holes in it. Fuck la. Now I have to throw the dress away. The burn and the holes aren't obvious but I would never wear a defected dress.

I had such a crash on Sunday because it hit me that it was all over. I've been looking forward to this weekend for weeks! But as I'm typing this, it's the Friday before Raya break so YAY! More holidays!

I Love Her Outfit: Emilia Clarke/Game of Thrones rant

Not only do I like her outfit, I AM OBSESSED WITH THIS WOMAN. I have a legit girl crush on her after discovering her in Game of Thrones. She's so bloody pretty! And I love her character on GoT. Although she's strong and cut throat (Remember her hand maiden she locked up in that vault and "Dracrys"-ed the shit out of that dude who kept saying shit about her in Valyrian? This gurrrrrrrrllllll is like *snap in a z formation*), she still is compassionate and kind and just. By now you should know that I am Team Dany all the way. 

Back to Emilia Clarke, she's such a cute little thing (I think she's about 5"2) and I love her figure. Proof that you don't need to be a size 00 to look good. Look at the curves on this woman la. Malehhh.

I'm not embarrassed to say that I quite like Miley Cyrus right now. I still don't love her music or her acting or whatever the hell it is that she does. I just love her style. I think it was when she chopped off her hair was when I went like "WOW, this girl has some balls" I really like her sense of style now and her body is phenomenal. Though I think she might be going overboard with her "I'm no longer a Disney star, I can do whatever the fuck I want". Damn over already la.

"La da di da di, we like to party" has been stuck in my head since. And yes, I do mind. 

The Peplum

I am treading thin ice with this one. Because I'm aware that the peplum is all the rage right now. It's everywhere! I see it in shopping windows, online blogshops, girls in my university are in love with this trend.

And I am here to proudly say that,

I AM NOT A FAN

The essential reason why I never caught on with it was because fortunately/unfortunately, I am already blessed with full hips. Just a little something something I inherited from my big-boned paternal Chinese family or my maternal Spanish ancestors. I'll never know who to thank or to blame.

So evidently, I didn't need any help in the hip accentuating department. When the peplum craze first broke out, I saw them on dresses. And I'll have to admit that the dresses were pretty but I admired them from afar. The accentuated the hips and the silhouette was lovely.

What a lot of people don't know is that the peplum has graced fashion magazines before. About 2 generations ago in the 1950's.

So anyway, the peplum with a dress I can tahan. But what I cannot stand is the peplum as a top. I'm sorry lah but that is just :(
I do not like it at all. It looks really funny. To me, there is no bottom you can pair it up with and it will look good.

Yecch. Just yechh. Peplum pants? God forbid! Kim Kardashian is a beautiful woman but she really needs to know how to dress for her shape. She seems to like the peplum so much. I see her in those dresses, tops (and pants?) a lot. She doesn't need to wear those things! She already has sexy ass curves. She needs no help from the peplum.

So far,out of all the peplum attire that I have seen, this number by Victoria Beckham worn Blake Lively is the only one that I find acceptable.

The cut is beautiful. THIS is how you do peplum. You equalize the heavy bottom with a strong top so it accentuates the tiniest part of a woman's body: her waist. She is really killing it here. I LAF IT.

I hope the peplum top dies out soon (refer to second last pic again for reference). The reason for this random I NO LIKE YOU post is because my lecturer wore a peplum top today and I was cringing the whole time. Me no like peplum. Unless you do it like Blake Lively.

Happy 21st Birthday Mark Jacob!

Mark Jacob turned 21 last week! So Vaenu and I were planning a SURPRISE party for Mark since it was his 21st. We wanted it to be super special and all. So Vaenu came up with this plan that I take Mark for dinner then later we surprise him at the venue. The idea was that he'll have a quiet boring night out with his crazy girlfriend and when he least expects it, my friends show up out of nowhere and we whisk him away to get shit faced. 

I took him to twentyone in BSC for dinner. Initial plan was WIP but they don't take reservations on weekdays and by the time we got there, it was packed. Speaking of WIP, now if someone asks me what is my most embarrassing moment, I'll have something to say. I was wearing this full skirt so it was all big and fluffy. WIP has fans on the floor. Yea..... You get the idea. Before I knew what had happened, my the I saw the edge of my skirt, cause it was in my face. FULL MARILYN MONROE MOMENT I had la. 

Except I didn't look this graceful. It was a full mess. And my skirt was shorter. WAYYYYY shorter.

I was so nervous throughout dinner because I was afraid I was gonna ruin the surprise. Mark knows me very well. We've known each other since we were 16. He knows when I'm lying and every minute facial expression is readable to him. So I was extremely careful. What I found difficult was updating my friends Vaenu, Chermaine and Sulekha who were all there already. I kept checking in with them to let them know how far into dinner we were so they could prepare themselves with the cake and whatnot. 

My heart was racing throughout dinner. I was confident Mark could finish his dinner quickly because he's a heavy eater and he was complaining about how hungry he was. Halfway through his burger he says to me, "I can't finish this la.." I replied with a smile and said "Take your time babe" but inside I was screaming "THEY ARE GONNA BE HERE ANY MINUTE!" Then he decides to order a second glass of beer and I'm all like "THEY ARE OUTSIDE!" I was a wreck. 

The burger really was huge though. He had to cut it in half so he could put it in his mouth. And mind you, he has a big mouth. 

So yadda yadda yadda, he we were done with dinner and SURPRISE! Everyone was waiting outside the restaurant with the cake. He was so shocked he just stood there for a couple of seconds and he didn't want to move TO his cake. So I took him by the arm and brought him to the cake. I'm so happy the plan worked! Cause if I blew it, Vaenu would have killed me. This was his brainchild after all. I was just the executor. 

We took him to Beer Belly this bar next to Sunway Giza. Our main and only goal was to make sure Mark got so fucked up, he wouldn't be able to walk straight. He had to down so much of shit.

Bottoms up! Us and our tequila shots. So happy Jane could make it. She rarely hangs out with us :( I hardly ever see her. But she came for this! And I izzz sooo happyzzzz.

Chermaine got a new phone, the Samsung S4 and she was testing out this cool new feature with the camera. Not really sure what it did. I think it was called the make-up feature or somethangg? I dunno. But this was the pic that we tried that feature with.

It has somewhat become a tradition for us to do a kissy picture with Mark on his birthday. We also did this last year for his 20th in Vertigo. Vaenu looks far too pleased. (Of course).

All in all, it was a fantastic day. Couldn't ask for anything more. Everybody had a great time. I didn't drink too much the girls and I thought it was a "smart" idea to mix drinks so that didn't go down too well for me. I can't remember much on what happened after we left the place. Quite fuzzy.

The Bling Ring

I'm really excited for this movie.

The trailer looks pretty good. One of those angsty teen movies which glorifies crime. I'm just really excited to see Emma Watson be a bitchy girl in an American accent. It'll be equivalent to seeing a dog walk on its hind legs. Strange but you can't not watch it. Oh and she's a brunette too. The dark roots really do give her a bad girl vibe. I don't see any trace of Emma Watson or Hermione Granger, judging from the trailer.
